News From the York County Bar Association

The Supreme Court’s Mentoring Program relies on the active participation of its experienced Bar members to make the program a success. In order to help new lawyers transition between the academic world into the professional world and to assist the new lawyers in cultivating essential skills, habits, and tools necessary for a successful career as a lawyer, the Lawyer Mentoring Program is in need of highly qualified lawyers.

YCBA will hold a memorial service for Emil Wald at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2011, in the courthouse in downtown York (2 South Congress Street, York, SC).  Judge John C. Hayes, III will preside.  Reverend Steve Hogg will deliver the invocation and benediction.  Chief Justice Jean Hoefer Toal, Red Ferguson, Thomas McDow, and Paul Dillingham will speak.

YCBA’s holiday party will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011, from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m., at the home of Christi and Michael Cox in Rock Hill (755 East Rambo Road, Rock Hill).  YCBA members should have received an invitation by mail.  (Tickets are $20 per person and $35 per couple.
